This is a little peek behind the curtain at what it takes to build the entire Cascadia Ready Radio ecosystem — the podcast, the website, and the social media presence. I started by recording episodes on the free Riverside plan. Then came the website, the Facebook page, the Spotify account, and a YouTube channel. Now I’m working on getting the show onto all the major podcast platforms: Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music/Audible, Google Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Pandora, Overcast, Pocket Casts, Castbox, PodBean, and Player FM.
And that’s just the distribution side.
You also have to learn how to use Riverside to record and edit. You have to relearn how to speak into a mic. You have to figure out how to make each episode a little better than the last. Then there’s outlining the show, writing the script and notes, rehearsing, rewriting, retakes, processing, and uploading. After that, you publish to Spotify and fill out all the metadata. Then you turn the written version into a blog post. Then you add the episode to the website. Update Facebook. Create an Instagram account. Have Riverside’s AI generate a clip for Instagram and upload that too.
And to think — I thought I was retired.
